Does Strobel’s evidence prove Christ? A reader’s guide
The case sounds cumulative. Its hidden weakness is the bridge between evidence and verdict.
The central problem
Preserved manuscripts prove access to claims. Testimony reports claims. Crucifixion establishes a death. Early resurrection belief establishes belief. None of these steps contains the later conclusion that Jesus is Messiah, deity, atonement, covenant authority, or an object of worship.
Why the Seven Gates matter
TEXT, THEME, TIME, TORAH, TANAKH, TARGET, and TEST force every inference into the open. The question is not whether a fact is interesting. The question is whether Torah and Tanakh authorize the conclusion drawn from it.
The result
One narrow historical claim survives strongly. Zero of eighteen tested claims independently supplies the missing Tanakh bridge to Strobel’s advertised Christ verdict. The book grants what can be granted and rejects only what the evidence cannot carry.
